My Grammy taught me to take a space and draw a design in it. Her favorite thing to do with me was to put a large plate on a piece of drawing paper, and trace around it. Then she would take a smaller plate, put it inside the larger circle and trace around it. Now, the fun would begin. She would take one side, and I would take another, and we would sit and draw for a whole afternoon. Grammy had a hobby, she painted fine china and she was very good at it. She was also good at teaching me the value of white space to balance a picture. Just color till you smile and don’t second guess yourself.
